Sardis Pty Ltd provided a Mitsubishi Plc system programmed with two HMI panels to provide a graphical representation of the press operation, with full functional control of the press from the HMI panels.

The press system comprised a bulk product loading table, free standing flattener, table fed pit with material flow control sensors, press feed station, 1000 Tonne press, material removal robot, material in feed system, plate turner, and a spot welder feed table.

The PLC system controlled all of the referred components, together with providing a full fault annunciation system.

The plant was commissioned successfully, with noticeable performance and production improvements.
